About the role

We are partnering with a leading global hedge fund on an exclusive search for a Portfolio Pricing and Valuations Lead to join its pricing and valuations function. This is a high-impact, highly visible seat at the center of the firm's equity derivatives infrastructure. The successful candidate will own the integrity of the firm's official marks across volatility, vanilla and exotic products, and will be a key contributor to the review and validation of pricing models and methodologies, the explanation of daily P&L, and the onboarding of new and complex products. The role offers direct exposure to portfolio managers, trading, risk, quant and technology teams, and is well suited to a technically strong derivatives practitioner who wants genuine ownership and the ability to shape how a sophisticated platform prices and controls its book.
Responsibilities: Gather, verify and assess market data, including third-party volatility surfaces and curves, to ensure marks are accurate and reliable. Oversee intraday and end-of-day pricing processes and the controls around them. Approve and release the firm’s official end-of-day marks, surfaces and curves for equity volatility and exotic products. Review and explain daily P&L, breaking results down into their main drivers: Greeks-based attribution, idiosyncratic events and trading activity. Spot, investigate and resolve breaks, working closely with trading, risk and finance. Produce attribution reports for senior management and carry out ad-hoc analysis as needed. Assess and test pricing and marking methodologies put forward by quant teams or vendors. Offer hands-on, practitioner feedback on model assumptions, calibration methods and how well models work in practice. Drive the onboarding and integration of new equity derivative products into the firm’s infrastructure, working with technology, quant, risk and portfolio management. Serve as a senior contact for portfolio managers on pricing, valuation, risk and product setup. Work across teams to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years in a relevant role such as equity derivatives trading, trader assistant, risk management, product control or valuations.
  • Deep knowledge of equity derivative products – including vanilla options, variance/volatility swaps, TRF/TRS, dividend swaps and exotics – with particular depth in volatility products.
  • Strong track record in P&L explanation and attribution within an equity derivatives context.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, evaluate and test complex pricing methodologies.
  • Experience working with technology and quant teams to drive system enhancement
  • Programming experience (Python, VBA or similar) with a focus on data analysis.
  • Proficiency with Bloomberg, Reuters and other market data sources.
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline preferred.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
