Title: Collections Specialist Office Status: Fully Onsite – Wayne, NJ
Pay Rate: $18-$20/hour
Contract Length: 6 months, no extension
Overview: A financial services organization is seeking a Collections Specialist to support a high-volume consumer lending portfolio. This role is heavily phone-based, combining inbound and outbound customer contact with skip tracing and account research for auto and personal loans. Candidates should be comfortable in a fast-paced collections environment, have strong telephone skills, and bring hands-on skip tracing experience.
Key Responsibilities: Manage a daily collection queue focused on auto and personal loan accounts. Make and receive a high volume of customer calls to address delinquent accounts and resolve issues. Perform skip tracing to locate customers and, when applicable, collateral. Research credit reports, credit applications, online resources, and other available databases to identify updated contact information. Investigate account information and determine appropriate next steps for customer outreach. Troubleshoot customer concerns and work toward appropriate resolutions. Update customer records with accurate contact and account information. Maintain detailed documentation while handling multiple accounts and priorities. Follow established procedures and collection practices when communicating with customers.
