Position Purpose / Important Application Information The Fire Inspector reports to the Fire Marshal and carries out their work under the direction of the Fire Marshal. This is responsible, technical and administrative work assisting the Fire Prevention Bureau in a variety of activities that include: conducting inspections, fire inspections, providing public information, and conducting other related fire prevention activities. This is a safety sensitive position. The full salary range for this position is stated above. The starting range of pay is dependent on qualifications and experience of each individual candidate. The City of Westminster has a Multilingual Stipend Program to encourage and reward benefited employees who are conversationally fluent in languages other than English. Benefited employees have the opportunity to test their language proficiency skills and qualify for a bi-weekly stipend that will vary based on the employee's level of proficiency and usage.

Certifications Required: Graduation from high school or GEDState of Colorado Driver Operator Utility is required within one (1) year of employment International Fire Code Fire Inspector I certification or equivalent related experience Experience conducting inspections of fire and/or building code inspections Possession of a valid driver's license and maintain a safe driving record The following is required within 60 days of appointment into this position: International Fire Code Fire Inspector II
Preferred: CDFPC or equivalent FF I or FF IIFire Investigation experience or IAAI IFIT or CFEI Fire Investigation Certification Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and skills, may be considered.
