About the role
Job Summary:
As a Tax Senior Manager, you will oversee and review financial information for clients, including business and individual tax returns. You will gain exposure to a diverse client base across multiple industries while managing client relationships and acting as a liaison between internal staff and leaders to ensure high-quality work is delivered.
Responsibilities
Tax Strategy and Engagement Oversight:
Develop and implement comprehensive tax planning strategies that align with client financial objectives.
Analyze complex tax scenarios such as mergers, acquisitions, and strategic transactions to provide optimal solutions.
Manage a portfolio of tax engagements, supervise staff, and review their work for accuracy and compliance.
Monitor progress, budgets, and timelines, making adjustments to meet client expectations. Research and Analysis Stay abreast of evolving tax laws, regulations, and industry developments.
Lead tax research efforts to address client inquiries and resolve complex tax issues.
Apply updated knowledge to client engagements and internal training initiatives. Client Communication Effectively communicate complex tax concepts and strategies to clients.
Prepare and deliver presentations on tax-related matters.
Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships as a trusted advisor. Compliance and Documentation Review and oversee tax return preparation for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Monitor filing deadlines, extensions, and other compliance requirements.
Ensure adherence to internal quality control standards. Team Collaboration Collaborate with other tax professionals to share insights and best practices.
Supervise and mentor staff, providing guidance and training.
Foster a collaborative team environment and participate in internal training sessions. Process Improvement and Innovation Identify opportunities to enhance tax workflows and methodologies.
Ensure compliance with internal quality control procedures. Strategic Business Development Collaborate with partners and senior management to identify business development opportunities.
Contribute to proposal development and presentations to prospective clients. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise subordinate team members. Other Responsibilities Prepare work for physical demands, including prolonged desk work and lifting up to 15 pounds.
Travel may be frequent and unpredictable based on client needs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
8+ years of relevant experience in a professional service environment.
CPA or Enrolled Agent license.
Experience with CCH ProSystem FX, Axcess Tax, Axcess Document, Axcess Workstream, Thomson Reuters Fixed Assets CS, Checkpoint for Tax.
Responsible for completing the minimum CPE credit requirement.
Preferred: Juris Doctor (JD) for specialty positions.
