About the role
- Track fund execution - commitments, obligations, unobligated balances, and expenditures - across multiple programs and generate reports
- Prepare cost estimates, Purchase Request Worksheets (PRWs), life-cycle budget planning, and spend plan worksheets
- Review, enter, and validate financial data across spreadsheets and reports
- Pull data and generate reports using DOI's Financial Business Management System (FBMS) and BI Launchpad (training provided)
- Maintain financial reports and dashboards in Excel, Access, and Power BISupport contract execution for purchase orders and task orders through contracting and financial offices
- Review procurement documentation for compliance with FAR, DOI Acquisition Policy, and MMA acquisitions guidance
- Administrative Support
- Schedule and coordinate meetings; manage mail, shipments, and correspondence
- Review travel authorizations and vouchers per Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) and DOI travel policy
- Support government purchase card documentation review
- Coordinate submissions into MMA's Document Tracking System (DTS)
- Document work processes as guides, tip sheets, and SOPsWhat You Bring 5+ years of relevant financial/administrative experience, ideally in a federal contracting or federal agency environment
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Working knowledge of federal financial and acquisition frameworks (FAR, DFAR, JTR, FIRMR, DoD 5000, or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Power BI, SharePoint, Power Automate, Forms, and Copilot
- Experience with federal budget formulation, execution, or financial reporting
- Comfortable learning new government systems (FBMS, DTS) and adapting to evolving process guidance
