Entertainment / Consumer Products / Motorsports Thunderhawk is conducting a search for a leading entertainment and live events company to identify a Senior Accountant for its Consumer Products / Motorsports organization. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting and finance professional who wants to work at the intersection of consumer products, merchandising, motorsports and live entertainment. Our client is a well-established organization in the live entertainment industry with a dynamic, fast-paced culture and a significant consumer products operation.
The Opportunity:
The Senior Accountant, Consumer Products will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the company's Motorsports Consumer Products division. This is more than a traditional accounting position. The successful candidate will combine hands-on accounting with financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and business partnership, working closely with merchandising, operations, finance and leadership. The position reports to senior finance leadership and is based on-site in Henderson, Nevada, with occasional work at event locations as business needs require.
What You'll Do:
Lead key month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, inventory analysis and event financial reporting. Ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and SOX requirements. Manage financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and ROI analysis for consumer products and apparel licensing across multiple sales channels. Analyze P&L performance, including revenue, COGS, operating expenses, margins and other key financial drivers. Perform variance analysis and identify opportunities to improve profitability, control costs and optimize margins. Partner with business leaders on growth initiatives, pricing, margin strategies and overall financial performance. Support and help lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes. Analyze financial and operational metrics to identify trends, risks and opportunities. Improve processes around financial reporting, forecasting and licensing and royalty reporting. Collaborate with merchandising, operations and other cross-functional teams. Mentor and support junior team members as appropriate. Support special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as business needs arise.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.4-7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience. Experience within consumer products, retail, licensing or a related industry. Strong hands-on experience with: Month-end close Journal entries Account reconciliations Financial reporting and analysisP&L analysis Budgeting and forecasting Variance analysis Strong understanding of GAAP and experience working in a SOX-controlled environment. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle. Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced business environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with royalty accounting, licensing, inventory, CPG or retail finance. Experience with data visualization or business intelligence tools. CPA and/or MBA.Experience supporting consumer products, apparel or merchandising businesses. Why Consider This Opportunity? This isn't your typical Senior Accountant position.
