Senior Detailer / Checker – Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB)Base pay: $85,000 – $100,000 per year (DOE) + Full Benefits.Our client is a national leader in pre‐engineered metal building design and fabrication, delivering innovative, high‐quality structures across commercial, industrial, agricultural, aviation, and storage sectors.Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Detailer / Checker to join a fast‐paced, growing team. This role ensures the highest quality standards in structural detailing and fabrication. You'll prepare and check detailed shop and erection drawings for PEMB systems, collaborate with engineering and fabrication teams, and ensure all outputs meet stringent project, company, and industry standards.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed shop and erection drawing packages for complex PEMB systems, including beams, columns, hot‐rolled members, sheeting, trims, and material lists.Interpret architectural and structural drawings and engineering notes to ensure design intent and specification compliance.Check and review other detailers' drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements and code standards.Collaborate with engineers, fabrication teams, and erection crews to resolve design issues and optimize constructability.Utilize industry‐standard tools such as AutoCAD, Metal Building Software (MBS), Tekla, or similar programs.Apply thorough working knowledge of IBC, AISC Steel Manual, MBMA, and AWS codes and standards.Maintain consistent quality and accuracy across multiple simultaneous projects, meeting both production and schedule goals.Required Skills & Qualifications15+ years of recent experience in steel detailing for pre‐engineered metal building (PEMB) projects.Demonstrated expertise in checking/reviewing drawings produced by other detailers.Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, MBS, and/or Tekla; experience with SDS/2 is a plus.Deep understanding of AISC, MBMA, AWS, and IBC codes and PEMB standards.Strong experience with complex detail conditions, such as hip/valley conditions, standing seam roof systems, mezzanines, jack beams, and canopies.Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings with precision and efficiency.Excellent communication, organizational, and time‐management skills.Proven ability to perform under deadlines in a fast‐paced, detail‐oriented environment.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Tekla, BIM Modeling, or SDS/2.Previous involvement in creating or maintaining detailing standards and manuals.Strong working knowledge of shop and field coordination processes.What We OfferCompetitive base salary: $85,000 – $95,000 (based on experience).Comprehensive benefits package: medical, dental, vision insurance; 401(k) with company match.Paid time off and holidays.Collaborative, family‐oriented culture focused on excellence, integrity, and teamwork.Opportunity to contribute to landmark PEMB projects across multiple sectors.Apply now or message us directly to learn more.
