About the role
Pay with Spire is rebuilding in-store payments around one idea: pay-by-bank should work as well as a card, cost merchants less, and put loyalty back in the merchant's hands. We're the only platform doing this at scale without forcing merchants to replace their existing checkout systems - and we're growing fast in fuel, convenience, and grocery, categories where transaction cost and loyalty economics matter most.
We're growth-stage, moving fast, and looking for a Chief Product Officer to own our product vision end to end and turn it into the next chapter of the company. This isn't a maintenance role. You'll set the strategy for our core payments experience - enrollments, transactions, settlements - while also identifying and launching entirely new product lines as we grow into a broader payments and data ecosystem. If you love building product discipline from the ground up as much as you love dreaming up what's next, this is your seat.
What you'll own:
Product vision, strategy, and roadmap across the full Spire platform, with transaction-volume growth as the north star
New product innovation and evolution as a core focus, identifying, solutioning, and executing new offerings and adjacencies, as the platform matures
Measurable improvement in the core experience, with enrollment conversion as a standing priority - reducing friction and expanding the enrolled-consumer base that drives transactions
Establish product authority and a disciplined operating model: clear prioritization, sharp requirements, and a real forcing function on delivery
A growing Product team - hiring, coaching, and building the standards that scale with us
What you bring:
12+ years in product management, including 5+ years in senior product leadership (VP Product, CPO, or equivalent) - ideally in fintech, payments, or platform companies
A track record of owning product strategy from vision through delivery, with measurable results to show for it
Experience conceiving and launching new products, not just optimizing existing ones
Comfort using in-market data and experimentation to steer toward a target outcome
Demonstrated ability to establish product discipline and serve as a forcing function across engineering and the broader organization
Strong executive communication skills and the ability to be transparent about trade-offs
Nice to have:direct pay-by-bank, card, or consumer financial products experience; experience launching new business models; a track record scaling a product org through rapid growth.
Requirements:If not based in Dallas, regular travel to Dallas office is required, and ability to travel regularly for team events, partner meetings, merchant visits, and industry conferences. This role needs to be visibly and deeply engaged with the business.
What we offer:
Competitive base salary, commensurate with experience
Equity participation
Health, dental, and vision insurance
Discretionary PTO and 401(k)
A genuine seat at the table in shaping where a growth-stage fintech goes next

Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
