Real Estate Associate Chicago | 3rd–7th Year Associates An excellent opportunity for a Mid/Senior level Real Estate Associate to join a top-ranked law firm in Chicago. The team advises leading developers, private equity firms, institutional investors, lenders and other sophisticated clients on a broad range of complex real estate matters. The role offers exposure to high-value transactions and the opportunity to work closely with experienced practitioners and clients across the full real estate lifecycle.
The Role:
  • Advising clients on a broad range of commercial real estate matters
  • Handling complex acquisitions, dispositions, development and financing transactions
  • Advising private equity firms, institutional investors, developers and other real estate investors
  • Drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, joint venture agreements, leases and other real estate documentation
  • Advising on real estate finance transactions, including acquisition and development financing
  • Supporting clients on real estate development, investment and portfolio matters
  • Conducting due diligence and identifying and managing transaction-related risks
  • Working directly with clients, opposing counsel, lenders and other transaction stakeholders
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the firm's Corporate, Finance, Tax and Private Equity practices
Candidate Profile:
  • 3+ years' experience in Real Estate law
  • Strong experience in commercial real estate transactions
  • Experience with acquisitions, dispositions, development, leasing and/or real estate finance preferred
  • Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical skills
  • Experience at a leading law firm preferred, although strong candidates from specialist or mid-sized real estate practices will also be considered
  • Comfortable taking ownership of matters and managing competing deadlines
  • Strong academic and professional credentials
  • Illinois Bar admission preferred
  • Commercially minded, organised and able to work effectively as part of a team
