About the role

Endoscopy Technician IThe Endoscopy Technician I is responsible for the care and maintenance of endoscopes and accessory equipment utilized for medical procedures, following infection control guidelines, hospital policies and manufacturer recommendations. Tasks are performed independently and under the supervision of licensed staff. SHIFT AND SCHEDULEFull Time, 7:00am-4:00pmESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONSAbility to assess, project and plan for procedural needs. Perform routine duties in a timely manner. Communicate effectively with physicians and team members. Supports and practices in accordance with Hospital policy, procedures and protocol.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of infection control principles. Required to complete six (6) hours of hospital provided continuing education upon hire and annually for Advanced Sterile Processing Certification. Education will focus on the standards of practice in instrument decontamination, transportation, and reprocessing.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The individual must be able to: Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
