About the role

Job Title The duties of this position include: Managing judge's caseload, docketing and scheduling. Serving as primary source of information on scheduling conferences, hearings, trials, and other case matters. Monitoring filing and other deadlines. Attending court sessions and conferences. Facilitating the orderly flow of proceedings, including setting up the courtroom, assuring presence of all necessary participants, and managing exhibits. Taking notes of proceedings, rulings, and notices. Reviewing cases and reports for necessary actions. Keeping judge and immediate staff informed of case developments. Acting as a liaison between the Clerk's Office, the bar, the public and the judge to ensure that cases proceed efficiently. Scheduling court reporters and interpreters. Informing jury clerk of upcoming trials and need for jurors. Assisting the judge and parties in jury selection and maintaining records of jury selection and attendance. Maintaining contact with counsel during deliberations. Drafting orders and judgments for the judge's approval, including judgment and commitment orders. Docketing orders, pleadings, judgments, utilizing applicable automated systems. Assisting in the accurate statistical reporting requirements of the Administrative Office. Reviewing the quality of electronically filed documents, ensuring that all orders and automated entries are appropriately and accurately docketed, and making summary entries on the docket of all filings and proceedings. Reviewing and updating chambers written policies and procedures at least annually. Ensuring that no sealed document is accessible or distributed to users not authorized to have access. Performing other duties as assigned.
