About the Company: A major North American manufacturer of residential and commercial roofing and building products is hiring a Website Operations Manager to join its Digital Marketing team. The team manages enterprise web platforms that support contractors, property owners, and commercial partners, focusing on continuous technical delivery, IT collaboration, and website performance.
Position Summary: Role: Website Operations Manager (Product Owner)
Location: Parsippany, NJ (Hybrid: 4 days on-site / 1 day remote)
Type: 6-Month Contract (Option to extend)
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week (Occasional Thursday post-hours release support every 5 weeks)
Pay Rate: $79.00 – $79.50 / hr
USDJob Description: The Website Operations Manager serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and IT engineering teams. Acting as a Product Owner, this role translates business requirements into technical execution, manages the Jira sprint backlog, and supports the day-to-day technical operations of enterprise web platforms.(Note: UX and visual design are handled by a separate team. This position focuses on technical delivery, Agile sprint management, web governance, and IT alignment).
Key Responsibilities: Sprint & Backlog Management: Act as the primary Product Owner across development cycles. Lead Agile planning in Jira, translate business goals into actionable user stories with acceptance criteria, groom the backlog, and make confident prioritization decisions on behalf of stakeholders. IT & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with IT lead developers and technical teams to plan sprint capacity, clear daily blockers, track deliverables, and manage deployment flows (from UAT testing to live production releases).Stakeholder Management & Alignment: Gather requirements from diverse business teams, balance conflicting priorities, and drive consensus to maintain steady progress toward digital initiatives. Web Governance & Operations: Serve as the first line of support for content authors on a technical level. Triage incoming bug reports and enhancement requests, monitor website health, and drive resolution for production issues. Data-Driven Optimization & Core Web Vitals: Leverage Google Analytics (GA4) and enterprise data (e.g., Salesforce) to make data-informed backlog decisions. Track site performance, Core Web Vitals, and URL structures. Technical SEO & AEO Execution: Support technical SEO and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) initiatives, optimizing Schema markup and site speed for search engines (Google, Bing) and AI discovery tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity).
Qualifications & Requirements: Product Owner Background: Prior experience in a Product Owner / Web Operations role partnering directly with IT engineering teams to manage development sprint cycles. Agile & Jira Proficiency: Strong expertise in Jira and Confluence, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, ticket prioritization, and writing clear user stories. Technical Understanding: Non-developer with strong technical literacy—comfortable discussing APIs, integrations, deployment environments, and website architecture with software engineers.
CMS Experience: Familiarity with enterprise CMS platforms (Sitecore experience is a major plus).Analytics & SEO Knowledge: Hands-on experience using Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to analyze web performance. Understanding of technical SEO/AEO concepts, site speed, and Schema markup. Stakeholder Negotiation: Demonstrated confidence in prioritizing backlog tickets, managing competing business requests, and making game-time decisions during development. Release Flexibility: Ability to support scheduled software releases occurring every 5 weeks on a Thursday after standard business hours.
Education: Bachelor's Degree required.
