About the role

Most people reading this shouldn't apply. This is a commission-only roofing sales role. No base salary. Some weeks are hard. If that sounds like a dealbreaker, it is, and that's okay. If you're still reading, here's who we are. Soltera Roofing & Renovation is a veteran-owned roofing, storm restoration, and renovation company in Beltsville, MD. Our President is a Marine. We're building a sales team of people who want to be pushed, trained, and paid what they're worth.
The work: Insurance side: Knock doors, inspect roofs, document storm damage, and guide homeowners through the insurance process from first call to finished roof. Retail side: Run company-provided leads (7-9 per week), meet homeowners, and present proposals. On the insurance side, you will climb ladders and walk roofs. The math
Insurance: 12% of contract price, growing to 14%Retail: 8-9% of contract price, growing to 10-11%At 12%, an $18,000 roof pays you $2,160. Close 4 a month and that's about $8,600. Close 8 and it's about $17,000. These are examples, not promises. Paid weekly, every Friday, on money collected$150 advance per signed insurance claim (up to 10 a month), applied against commission$500 for completing our 10-day training program What you get beyond the money Real training, in the classroom and in the field Skills that pay for life: inspections, insurance claims, in-home sales, negotiation A path to training and leading your own team, with an override on their production The satisfaction of helping families protect their biggest investment, often after the worst week they've had What we need from you Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle Comfort on ladders and roofs (insurance side) The discipline to work without someone watching The ability to hear no and knock on the next door anyway
Preferred: Roofing, solar, home improvement, auto, or door-to-door sales experience. Military veterans are encouraged to apply. Interviews are in person on Mondays at 10am in Beltsville. Week one is a tryout, and at the end of it we decide together whether you stay. If you read all of this and still want in, prove us wrong. Apply.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
