About the role
- Own statutory accounting and all regulatory and NAIC filings, with management and group reporting alongside
- Own the capital plan, including risk-based capital and the rating agency capital model, tested against catastrophe scenarios
- Lead reinsurance accounting, recoverables and collateral, and work with the appointed actuary on reserves
- Oversee a conservative investment portfolio and liquidity
- Lead the financial relationship with the rating agency, the regulator and the auditors
- Build the finance team, the systems and the controls
- Who we are looking for
- A finance leader from a property and casualty carrier, with statutory accounting at the core of your record
- Hands-on experience of preparing and signing off statutory annual and quarterly statements
- Experience of a rating agency review and a state regulatory examination. Florida experience is an advantage
- A clear understanding of how a catastrophe-exposed property book consumes capital
- A builder who has set up or rebuilt a finance function in a lean business
- A sitting carrier CFO, or a strong deputy ready for the top seat
- A qualified accountant
