Role Description: The Registered Dental Hygienist is a full-time, on-site role based in Bellmore, NY. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive dental prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, and scaling and root planing, as well as assisting in the assessment and management of periodontal disease.. Daily tasks involve educating patients on oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and periodontal health, while maintaining strict infection control and sterilization protocols. The role requires consistent, professional interaction with patients and colleagues to support a smooth, efficient clinical workflow.
Qualifications: Strong foundational knowledge in dental hygiene and dental care. Demonstrated expertise in hygiene procedures, including dental prophylaxis and routine preventive care. Experience assessing and managing periodontal disease, including periodontal charting and appropriate clinical interventions. Current Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in the state of New York and compliance with all continuing education requirements. Proficiency in taking and interpreting dental radiographs and using electronic dental records or practice management software. Excellent communication and patient education skills, with a focus on building trust and promoting long-term oral health. Commitment to strict infection control standards, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively within a small clinical team.
