About the role
Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. Load and unload raw materials and finished components. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and work instructions. Perform machine setups, including tooling, fixtures, offsets, and workholding. Make necessary tool offsets and program adjustments to maintain part dimensions. Select and install appropriate cutting tools, inserts, drills, boring bars, and other tooling. Inspect completed parts using precision measuring equipment Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure parts meet specifications. Identify and troubleshoot machining, tooling, dimensional, and equipment issues. Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to optimize cycle times, tool life, and part quality. Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment and work areas clean and organized. Maintain accurate production and inspection records. Follow all safety procedures and company quality standards. Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve manufacturing issues. Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, scrap reduction, and process efficiency.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience as a CNC Lathe Machinist or similar machining role.
Strong understanding of CNC turning and lathe operations.
Ability to independently set up and operate CNC lathes.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.Experience using precision measuring tools and inspection equipment.
