About the role

Senior Fullstack Engineer | Hybrid, New York City | $200,000-$230,000 Backend depth. Front-end craft. Real ownership. A growth-stage consumer tech company in New York is rebuilding its core platform, and we're helping them find a senior engineer who wants a hand in shaping it. This isn't a role where you pick up tickets and hand them off. You'll steer technical decisions, build features that customers use every day, and make the people around you better. The team is lean, so your work will be visible. You'll move between server-side systems and interactive, content-rich web experiences, and you'll bring strong backend instincts to both. What the work looks like Build and evolve features spanning APIs, data layers, and a modern JavaScript front end Take larger initiatives from first sketch to production, including data modeling, service design, and the interface people see Influence your squad's technical direction and set the standard for how things get built Work closely with product managers, designers, and analysts to ship in small steps, measure impact, and keep improving Hold a high bar for performance, readability, and testability Coach less experienced engineers and share what you know Make practical calls that keep the team shipping without sacrificing quality What you've got Five to seven-plus years delivering production software across the full stack, with your strongest muscle on the backend Fluency in at least one server-side language, such as Go, Python, C#, or JavaHands-on experience with React, Next.js, or a comparable framework (any modern one counts) Sound judgment on API design, system architecture, and schema design, whether SQL or NoSQLComfort working in AWS, GCP, or a similar cloud, with Docker and Kubernetes in your toolkit A disciplined approach to automated testing, CI/CD, and sensible design patterns The ability to weigh speed against correctness and explain your reasoning Clear communication, a team-first attitude, and a habit of taking initiative A plus if you have Experience on consumer-facing software products Background with dynamic, form-driven apps that handle lots of user-created content Comp Details~$200,000-$230,000 base + Equity~ A seat at the table on architecture and roadmap decisions~ A hands-on, shipping-focused team culture~ Hybrid schedule in New York - 1 day a week but flexible (a brief in-person interview may be part of the process)

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
