About the role

Senior PCB Design & Layout Engineer, Power-Voltage-Stepping Apps Bleeding Edge Ohio Based Technology Firm, Newly Created Role, Tremendous Growth Potential. We're seeking a Senior PCB Design & Layout Engineer with a focus on Power Management Applications: Drive the full lifecycle (requirements to release) of advanced, small-form-factor PCBs for high-voltage, power management, and power-conversion systems. You will work in a fast-paced, small-team environment owning complex designs, executing LTSpice simulations, writing light bring-up code, and collaborating with mechanical and ASIC teams. Key ResponsibilitiesPCB Lifecycle & Layout: Lead schematic capture, layout, stackup design, and DFM/DFT for space-constrained, high-density PCBs. Power & Thermal Design: Optimize step-up/step-down converters, high-voltage switching, isolation, creepage/clearance, and thermal dissipation. Simulation & Bring-Up: Conduct LTSpice power circuit simulations; write basic test scripts (C/C++/Python/Arduino) for bench testing and board bring-up. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with ASIC, firmware, and mechanical engineers to integrate custom blocks and ensure system reliability.
Qualifications
Education & Experience: BS in EE, CE, Physics, or related field + 7–10+ years of PCB design experience.
Core Technical Skills: Expertise in power management (buck/boost, high-voltage, discrete power, battery systems) and micro/irregular PCB footprints. EDA & Tooling: Proficiency in Altium Designer is a plus; LTSpice experience preferred. Testing & Hardware: Hands-on experience with bench test equipment, power testing-voltage and basic embedded programming for validation.
Preferred Experience: Integrating ASIC-based power/analog ICs, HDI layouts, and thermal modeling. Ruggedized electronics and deep knowledge of PCB fabrication constraints. Experience with small-discreet-miniature type PCB's; PCB’s for wearable devices and/or experience with odd-shaped PCB sizing is also a plus.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
