About the role
Senior Accountant, SEC Reporting📍 Downtown Chicago | HybridA Fortune 500 global hospitality company headquartered in downtown Chicago — and a perennial member of Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For® list — is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Financial Reporting team, supporting SEC filings, consolidated financial statements, and internal management reporting. What You'll Do:
- Prepare consolidated balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, and footnotes in accordance with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
- Support the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statement, and standalone audit reports
- Assist with internal reporting activities including preparation of the monthly CFO reporting package and related analysis
- Prepare consolidating and intercompany elimination journal entries and assist in maintenance of the chart of accounts
- Monitor, analyze, and review data loaded into Hyperion
- Review financial and other information submitted by divisions for financial reporting accuracy
- Review debt covenant calculations
- Support the preparation and review of quarterly earnings releases and related materials
- Prepare standalone entity financial statements and footnotes
- Perform review of XBRL tagging to ensure reporting requirements are met
- Prepare support for external auditors and participate in special projects and accounting research as needed
- Develop process improvements and increase efficiencies in consolidation and reporting procedures
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field3–5 years of accounting experience; at least 2 years of public accounting experience preferredCPA preferredSEC and US GAAP financial reporting experience preferred
- Hyperion or similar ERP/reporting system experience a plus
- Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a high emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
