Job Description: Pipe Yard Helper
Location
Pay: $18-20+ $1 shift differential
Schedule: Saturday-Tuesday 6:30a-4:30pm + OT as needed
Job Summary:
TruBlu HR Solutions is seeking a Pipe Yard Helper to support safe and efficient yard operations. This position will assist with loading and unloading trucks, organizing pipe and materials, verifying inventory, and maintaining accurate product information using tablets and an ERP system. This is an industrial position requiring outdoor work and frequent interaction with heavy equipment and materials.
Responsibilities:
- Assist forklift operators with loading and unloading trucks
- Safely identify and move pipe and other products using verbal and hand-signal instructions
- Verify product types, heat numbers, quantities, dimensions, and other identifying information
- Compare physical inventory with ERP records, tags, and shipping documents
- Use tablets and ERP systems to record and verify inventory information
- Scan barcodes and update product locations and quantities
- Report damaged, missing, or incorrectly located materials
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities
- Organize pipe and materials in designated yard locations
- Install strapping, bracing, or padding to secure materials during transportation
- Assist with painting, stenciling, sandblasting, coating, and other product preparation as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPEReport equipment, material, inventory, or safety concerns to supervisors
- Cross-train and assist in other work areas as needed
Qualifications:
- Stable work history; industrial experience preferred
- Basic computer/tablet skills and ability to learn an ERP system
- Ability to accurately read product descriptions, tags, heat numbers, quantities, and other identifying information
- Reliable transportation
- Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Willingness to work flexible or extended hours, including weekends
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
Physical Requirements:
- Lift and stack objects up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Frequently lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects weighing 10–20 lbs.
- Stand, walk, kneel, and reach for extended periods
- Climb ladders and stairs as needed
- Work outdoors in extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain
- Safely work around heavy equipment, trucks, forklifts, and industrial materials
