The successful candidate will be a hands-on, statistically grounded professional with a background in health data science, health actuarial science, or medical economics. The role involves leading the design, validation, and delivery of statistical and machine learning algorithms to support cost-of-care measurement, causal inference, and predictive modeling. This includes the development of analytics capabilities that help clients understand cost, risk, and the impact of health programs. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years' experience, a strong foundation in applied statistics and causal inference, and a proven track record in building and deploying predictive models on large medical and pharmacy claims datasets. Key responsibilities for this position include collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the methodological rigor of the work, staying hands-on in model development, and presenting results to both technical and non-technical audiences. The role also requires expertise in MLOps, model governance, and experience with a range of statistical and machine learning techniques. The candidate should be adept at mentoring junior data scientists, setting standards for model validation, and quality control, and be capable of leading multiple projects with clear priorities and timelines. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related quantitative field is required, with advanced degrees being a plus. The candidate should be an excellent communicator, with the ability to document and present findings clearly, and have a strong background in US health data, including coding standards.
