Job Description: Debur/Grinding/Hand Sander This position will be responsible for the manual removal of machining burrs from turrets punch press sheets laser and welded parts using industry standard debur and grind techniques. This requires the individual to hand sand, grind, file, debur, buff and smooth surface metal parts using hand tools or powered equipment requiring care to maintain contour, edges and dimensions. The individual will work within the group to achieve quality, productivity, and employee performance goals. This is a full-time position including some overtime and Saturdays when needed. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Essential Functions:
  • Log into job via data collection system before starting job.
  • Load, unload, and adjust workpieces onto equipment or work tables, using hand tools.
  • Remove parts from sheet and deburr as needed using hand files and pneumatic deburring tools
  • Grind/Sand material using orbital grinder/sander
  • Performed first run check and have it signed off by QC.Inspects completed and in-process pieces to verify conformance of finish to the customer and company standards.
  • Continue to self-inspect part thought-out run to ensure quality.
  • After completing job record part counts and log out of job via data collect system.
  • Move job to next operation.
  • Follow ISO related quality policies, procedures, and documentation requirements
  • Follow departmental safety requirements including proper use of PPE as required
