About the role

PT - Direct Support Professional (DSP) Support Services/ Harford Rate of Pay $22/hr*We are seeking a Part Time Personal Supports (DSP) to provide hands-on care to individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities providing assistance with personal hygiene, activities/ outings, social engagement, shopping, planning, cooking, and cleaning. Support a young man in the Bel Air area.10a-10:30a - INDIVIDUAL and staff will review plans for the day and prepare for scheduled activities. This might include gathering any materials, necessary for the day, packing lunch, etc.10:30a-12p - INDIVIDUAL and staff will participate in an activity of INDIVIDUAL's choice at home or in the community. This may include parks and rec activities, exercise, walks, shopping, visiting peers, flea markets, church, volunteering, etc.12p-1p - INDIVIDUAL and staff will have lunch together. This may be at home or in the community. This may include making choices, learning about nutrition, kitchen safety, cooking skills, ordering, purchases, etc.1p-3p - INDIVIDUAL and staff will participate in an activity of INDIVIDUAL's choice at home or in the community. This may include parks and rec activities, exercise, walks, shopping, visiting peers, flea markets, church, volunteering, etc. Staff should be patient, respectful, trustworthy, and able to encourage and participate in living a fun and fulfilling life. This position is: 15 hours/ weekM/T/W 10a-3pThe schedule is subject to flexibility due to the needs of the individuals supported. Some lift and transfer may be required. Paid training, including CPR/First Aid, and opportunities to obtain Med Tech Certification! DSPs assist with creating opportunities for individuals to live full and productive lives by: Assisting with participation and exploration of the community Cultivating and expanding independent living skills Assisting with the development of meaningful and personal relationships Implementing strategies to achieve individuals' personal goals.

  • Eligible candidates must have a high school degree/GED and a current driver's license with less than three points on the driving record.
  • Rate of pay *$22/hr.* Regular Base rate is $22/hr. There is an additional $1/hr. shift differential for weekend shifts. ($22 +$1=$23/hr.)
