About the role
- Assemble and test electronics systems: enclosures, wiring, connectors, soldering
- Flash firmware and run functional and connectivity tests using our test procedures
- Log test results and flag failures or recurring issues to the hardware team
- Label, package, and prep hardware for shipment
- Help improve our build and test checklists as you learn the process
- What you have
- Hands-on experience with electronics assembly, wiring, or bench testing
- Experience in electronics or device repair (phones, laptops, consoles), assembly, or bench testing is a strong plus
- Expert soldering skills
- Careful attention to detail and comfort following a checklist exactly
- Reliability: you show up when scheduled and communicate when you can'tExperience with multimeters, test equipment, or firmware flashing
- HVAC, electrical, or building-systems coursework or trade experience
- Micro-soldering or board-level repair experience
- Experience in a production, manufacturing, or quality-control environment
- A knack for spotting ways to make a process faster or more reliable
- A passion for tackling climate change and sustainability
- Details20–30 hours/week through early December (we'll work with you on the right fit), with possible extension
- Schedule flexible around classes
- On-site in midtown Manhattan$25–30/hour, based on experience, plus monthly quality bonuses for high build yield
