About the role
Our client is seeking a relationship-driven Business Development Manager to help expand its growing Mechanical Construction presence throughout the Phoenix market. This individual will focus on developing new business opportunities within the multi-family sector, building lasting client relationships, and positioning the company for continued growth.This role is ideal for someone who understands the commercial mechanical construction industry and enjoys connecting with owners, developers, general contractors, architects, and engineers to identify projects early and drive long-term partnerships.You'll join a highly respected mechanical contractor known for its collaborative culture, commitment to quality, and investment in its people.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute a strategic business development plan focused on the Phoenix market and surrounding areas.Build and maintain relationships with owners, developers, general contractors, architects, engineers, and key industry partners.Identify and pursue new mechanical construction opportunities, with an emphasis on multi-family developments.Represent the company at industry events, association meetings, networking functions, and customer events.Generate qualified leads through proactive outreach, relationship building, and market intelligence.Partner closely with Operations, Estimating, and Preconstruction teams to ensure a seamless transition from opportunity to project pursuit.Assist with proposal strategy, presentations, interviews, and client-facing meetings.Maintain accurate opportunity tracking and forecasting within the CRM.Monitor market trends, upcoming developments, and competitive activity to identify new opportunities.Develop long-term client relationships that generate repeat business and strategic partnerships.Qualifications3+ years of Business Development, Client Development, or Sales experience within mechanical construction.Strong understanding of commercial mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping.Experience selling mechanical construction services to owners, developers, general contractors, or design teams.Multi-family construction experience is highly preferred.Existing relationships within the Arizona construction market are strongly preferred.Ability to communicate confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Demonstrated success developing new business through networking, relationship building, and strategic sales efforts.Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple departments.Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Marketing, or a related field preferred.Preferred ExperienceMechanical contractor background.Experience with Design-Build or Design-Assist project delivery.Familiarity with construction estimating and preconstruction processes.Knowledge of Arizona's commercial construction market.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salaryPerformance-based incentive planComprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefitsVehicle allowance or company vehiclePaid time off and holidaysCareer advancement opportunities with an established industry leader
