About the role

National Grocery Business Development Manager A family-owned, 50-year-old snack manufacturer is investing heavily in retail growth and hiring a National Grocery Business Development Manager to help expand its presence with regional and national grocery retailers. This is an established business with $110M in revenue and roughly 10% annual growth, but retail still represents significant white space. The opportunity is ideal for a true hunter who wants the resources and stability of an established food manufacturer while still having the ability to make a visible impact on the company's next phase of growth. Why This Role Stands OutReal white space and visible impact: Retail is still a relatively small part of the overall business, giving this person meaningful runway to open major accounts and help build the national grocery growth engine. Marquee retail traction: The company already works with retailers including The Fresh Market, Kroger, Albertsons, Publix, Ingles, and Central Market. Creative product influence: Help shape new products, flavors, pack formats, private-label programs, seasonal concepts, and retailer-specific solutions rather than simply selling from a fixed catalog. Multiple ways to win: Sell across branded, private-label, bulk, custom-manufactured, and retailer-specific snack programs. Leadership access + autonomy: Work directly with the VP of Sales & Marketing, with significant ownership of prospecting, pipeline strategy, and national account development. Career runway and strong retention: The organization has a track record of promoting from within, employees with 20+ and 30 years of tenure, and a retail structure being built to scale. Location & Territory National U.S. territory. This is a remote/home-office role, but candidates must be based in the Southeast or Central U.S. Travel is typically around 1-2 overnight trips per month for customer meetings, trade shows, and collaboration at headquarters.
Compensation & Benefits: Base $145K–$175K + Bonus, OTE $200-225KComprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, HSA/FSA, LegalShield/IDShield 401K w/ Match Company credit card, mileage reimbursement, laptop, etc.
What You'll Be Doing: Prospect, develop, and close new regional and national grocery accounts, managing opportunities from initial outreach through presentation, negotiation, launch, and first shipment. Build and maintain a disciplined national pipeline while developing relationships with grocery buyers, category managers, merchandising leaders, and private-label teams. Partner with Marketing, Innovation, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to create retailer-specific assortments, private-label programs, custom concepts, and launch strategies. Recruit and manage broker partners where they add value, while remaining personally accountable for new-business development and transitioning mature accounts to the Retail Business Manager.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
