Environmental, Safety & Health Technician
Talent Source is hiring an Environmental, Safety & Health Technician in San Diego, California, working as both a prime contractor and subcontractor for government ship repair. This is a temp to direct hire position.
Job Summary:
Serves as an environmental and safety resource for facility and subcontractor personnel working in a variety of industrial fields associated with ship repair. The areas include: on board sea‑going vessels and ships; industrial shops; dry docks; etc., ensuring compliance with established Federal OSHA, State OSHA, NAVSEA Standard Items, and Maritime regulations and/or requirements.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Education:
High School diploma or GED certificate or equivalent education and experience. Ability to work at a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Must possess knowledge of OSHA Regulations 29 CFR 1910, 1915 and NAVSEA Standard Items. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Maritime Knowledge (preferred)Knowledge of proper investigating and reporting of incidents. Ability to resolve complaints and negotiate with others.
