Financial Analyst, LBJ SchoolThe Lyndon B Johnson School of Public Affairs seeks a Finance Analyst to serve as a key member of the LBJ Finance team, providing financial, budgetary, and operational support to faculty, staff, center leadership, and school administration. Responsibilities
Center Support and Financial Administration:
Partner with LBJ center leadership and affiliated programs to support financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and resource budgets, revenues, expenditures, and funding distributions to ensure fiscal compliance and accountability. Oversee funding for personnel, scholarships, fellowships, tuition, and related program expenses. Act as the primary financial contact for centers and university partners. Maintain financial records and support the management of grants, contracts, gifts, and other funding sources.
Financial Planning, Budgeting, and Analysis:
Assist with development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the school's annual operating budget. Provide guidance on budget policies, procedures, and financial planning including preparing financial reports, forecasts, projections, and analyses to support leadership and strategic decision-making. Collaborate with the Finance, Grants and Research Manager on financial planning and modeling, reporting, variance analysis, account reconciliations, budget adjustments and special projects.
Business and Administrative Support:
Process financial transactions, including purchasing, reimbursements, funds transfers, and accounting entries and other administrative activities. Improve business processes and internal controls; support Business Affairs operations and special projects as assigned by the Business and Administrative Manager.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Five years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, accounting, financial operations, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience developing budgets, forecasts, financial reports, and analytical data summaries.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, analysis, and reporting.
Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

Qualifications:
Experience supporting research centers, academic departments, or similar organizations in higher education, nonprofit, governmental, or research settings.
Experience with Workday, DEFINE, VIP, FRMS, Tableau, Power BI, or similar financial and reporting systems.
Knowledge of University of Texas at Austin financial policies, procedures, and systems.
Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field and more than required years of experience.
Salary Range$60,000 + depending on qualifications
Working Conditions:
