About the role
- Serve as a senior strategic relationship leader and trusted advisor for assigned healthcare clients
- Develop, strengthen, and maintain long-term relationships with executives, healthcare organizations, payers, providers, government entities, and other stakeholders
- Lead strategic client discussions involving healthcare operations, financial performance, contracting, reimbursement, and growth opportunities
- Evaluate existing healthcare contracts and identify opportunities for financial, operational, or strategic improvement
- Lead and support complex contract negotiations and renegotiations with payers and other healthcare organizations
- Develop sophisticated negotiation strategies based on financial analysis, market conditions, organizational priorities, and available healthcare data
- Analyze reimbursement structures, financial performance, contract terms, and healthcare utilization data to support client recommendations
- Apply knowledge of healthcare carve-out structures, coding, reimbursement methodologies, and related contracting concepts when evaluating client opportunities
- Conduct detailed financial, market, operational, and industry research to support strategic recommendations
- Build and maintain Excel-based analyses, financial models, reports, forecasts, and decision-support tools
- Analyze large or complex datasets to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement
- Translate complex financial and healthcare data into clear, actionable recommendations for clients and senior leadership
- Develop executive-level presentations and communicate findings to key stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to improve client financial performance, contracting strategy, operational efficiency, and overall business outcomes
- Evaluate market trends, payer behavior, reimbursement changes, and healthcare industry developments that may affect client strategy
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop customized solutions to complex healthcare business challenges
- Manage multiple high-level client initiatives, negotiations, analyses, and deliverables simultaneously
- Maintain strong visibility into client priorities, business objectives, challenges, and emerging needs
- Proactively identify opportunities to expand client relationships and introduce additional consulting or strategic services
- Support business development initiatives, referrals, and growth opportunities as appropriate
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism, confidentiality, accuracy, and responsiveness across all client interactions
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
- Minimum 5–6 years of relevant professional experience in healthcare consulting, client relations, contracting, finance, payer/provider strategy, government healthcare, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience working within the payer, provider, or government healthcare environment
- Experience with healthcare carve-out structures, coding, methodologies, or related contracting/reimbursement concepts
- Demonstrated experience negotiating and renegotiating healthcare contractsStrong financial analysis and business acumen
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Experience analyzing complex financial, operational, or healthcare datasets
- Experience conducting research and translating findings into strategic recommendations
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Public Health, or a related fieldMBA strongly preferred
- Approximately 10+ years of relevant healthcare industry experience
- Previous healthcare consulting experience
- Extensive experience leading complex payer or provider contract negotiations
- Experience advising senior executives or C-suite stakeholders
- Experience managing high-value or strategically important healthcare client relationships
- Exceptional strategic and high-level thinking capabilities
- Sophisticated negotiation and contract management skillsStrong financial and quantitative analysis capabilities
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skillsStrong research and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to interpret complex healthcare, financial, and contractual information
