About the role
We are seeking an experienced Hospitalist Physician for a 180-day assignment in North Carolina, starting Dec 24, 2026. This role involves 12-hour night shifts from 7p-7a, focusing on critical care responsibilities including managing vent patients in the ICU, traditional rounding, consults, and admissions. The physician will collaborate with specialists and a critical care team to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide comprehensive ICU/Critical Care duties.
Collaborate with critical care physicians during morning hours and Tele ICU Service for critically ill patients in the afternoons and weekends.
Manage stroke and brain bleed cases in consultation with Neurology and Neurosurgeon teams (Tele Neurology service available).Perform traditional and interdisciplinary rounding, consults, and admissions.
Manage vent patients in the ICU (preferred).Procedures are optional.
Work alongside local specialists including Cardiology, Orthopedics, Nephrology, General Surgery, Urology, Infectious Disease, and Psychiatry.
Additional Information:
Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine required.
EMR system utilized is Epic.
This position is for an inpatient setting.
Experience managing vent patients in the ICU is preferred.
