Job Description:
Butler County Equipment is seeking a mechanically inclined Small Engine Technician to service lawn mowers and handheld equipment. Reporting to the Dealership General Manager, this full-time, in-person role will diagnose and repair lawn and garden machinery through scheduled work orders, warranty and recall campaigns, walk-in customer requests, and emergency repairs. The position is based in Hamilton, OH, with pay determined by experience and work ethic.
Responsibilities:
Inspect equipment and diagnose mechanical issues. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Determine required repairs, parts, labor, and tools. Perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs. Replace necessary parts to complete repairs. Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and related service information. Complete work orders with serial numbers, engine hours, acres, and other required data. Communicate with the service manager, service writer, and customers regarding major issues. Maintain current product and technology knowledge through training and events. Assist with projects that maintain and improve the equipment lot, storefront, and company property.
Required Qualifications:
At least 2 years of small engine repair experience. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to reliably commute to or relocate to Hamilton, OH 45013.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with small engine repair or lawn and garden equipment. Knowledge of mechanical diagnostics, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems. Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics. Experience with work order management and troubleshooting. Strong customer communication skills.
