Physician Assistant Summary
Job Overview: We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant who specializes in primary care medicine and imaging to provide medical services in collaboration with our Primary Care physicians.
Principal Accountabilities: Obtains and documents patient history as appropriate to chief complaint or reason for visit. Conducts relevant physical exam and evaluates patient, documenting pertinent positive and negative findings. Diagnoses and treats disease and manages chronic illness. Prescribes medication in accordance with New York State and federal law. Orders appropriate laboratory, radiological and special examinations or tests; interprets results Provides preventative health services, including health education and counseling. Collaborates with other clinicians and staff members to ensure continuity of care of patients. Performs other job-related duties as required.
Qualifications: Education, Training, Licenses,
Certifications: Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner education program registered by the NYS Education Department Master’s Degree Licensed and currently registered as a Registered Nurse by NYSCurrent New York State Registration as Nurse Practitioner Current Board Certification as an NP from a NYS approved accrediting bodyORBachelor of Science degree in Physician Studies (R)Master of Science degree in Physician Studies (P).Graduate of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) (R)Current NCCPA Board Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) (R)Minimum 2-year Primary Care experience (R)Must possess strong communication skills both oral and written Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office Relevant Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 2-3 years of related experience Experience working with diverse populations in an ambulatory healthcare setting. BLSACLS strongly preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills
