Salary Range: $106,900 - $117,590 Salary Band: 29 The minimum of the posted pay range reflects the established entry rate for this position. The BNSF Railway Engineering Department is responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining the infrastructure of our extensive rail network. This crucial role involves applying advanced engineering principles to address complex challenges, ensuring the safety and efficiency of our operations. This is a full-time positionis located in Henrietta, MO - Marceline West (CHI)Travel is required approximately 50% - 70%This position reportsto the Division Engineer
Key responsibilities: Plan, coordinate, prioritize and supervise maintenance crews in the efficient, safe and economic performance of their duties to ensure track structure is maintained and upgraded to meet BNSF and FRA standards Work with local, county and state agencies on weed control, grade crossing and drainage problems to create good public relations Coordinate track maintenance work with other departments to maximize work efforts and train operations Perform inspection of track by riding trains, walking and hi-rail Address technical training, safety training, following up on safety issues, maintaining contact with field personnel and helping to enhance overall quality and safety guidelines and allotments Ensure compliance and application of company policies, i.e., BNSF's Equal Employment Policy, Safety Rules, applicable scheduled agreements, FRA Standards and government regulations Daily work is conducted in an indoor/outdoor safety sensitive environment where the working conditions can include diverse and extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet), walking and performing work on uneven surfaces, working around loud noises, fumes, and heavy/moving machinery. Basic Qualifications: Current BNSF employee withFLSCertification Must have obtained Tier III certification from a Manager of Engineering Certification Ability to "on-call" for emergency situations Must have a strong working knowledge of safe railroad operations and practices Possess working knowledge of railroad union agreements Strong working knowledge of Maintenance of Way track standards Show active commitment and urgency for establishing safer work practices toward theultimate goalof an injury-free work environment Computer literacy and basic accounting skills Must have the ability to communicate well, one-on-one and in groups Able to work safely in the above working conditions Travel to various locations in a geographic region and remain on site for extended periods, sometimes days or weeks at a time Able to meet the above travel requirements Subject to "on-call" and must respond to emergencies at any time Willing to work extra hours to meet deadlines Capability to work in an office and field environment, climb ladders and walk on uneven surfaces safely Preferred Qualification Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or other engineering related field.
