Role Description: The Licensed Acupuncturist is a full-time, on-site role located in New York, NY. Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing acupuncture and related modalities in coordination with physical therapy and other services. The role involves documenting care in compliance with regulatory and clinic standards, educating patients on treatment goals, self-care, and preventive strategies, and monitoring clinical progress to adjust interventions. The acupuncturist will collaborate with other clinicians, maintain a clean and safe treatment environment, and participate in practice meetings and continuing education activities as needed.
Qualifications: Strong foundation in Medicine and Oriental Medicine, with the ability to integrate these perspectives into patient care. Demonstrated proficiency in Acupuncture, including diagnostic techniques, treatment planning, and safe, effective needle insertion. Hands-on experience with adjunct therapies such as Moxibustion to complement acupuncture treatments. Knowledge of Herbs and their appropriate use within an Oriental Medicine framework, including basic safety and contraindications. Current licensure as an Acupuncturist in New York State, and graduation from an accredited acupuncture or Oriental medicine program. Ability to communicate clearly with patients and colleagues, including delivering explanations of treatment plans in accessible language. Strong documentation, time management, and organizational skills within a clinical setting. Commitment to ethical practice, cultural sensitivity, and maintaining patient confidentiality. Experience in an interdisciplinary or outpatient medical practice is beneficial.
