The Opportunity:
A growing organization in the consumer products and retail space is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to strengthen its analytics and business reporting capabilities. This position will play an important role in helping teams better understand performance, identify opportunities, and make more informed business decisions. The role is a blend of business analytics, business intelligence, reporting, and cross-functional partnership. We are looking for someone who is technically strong with data and reporting tools but who also understands how to connect the numbers to what is happening in the business. The right person will be comfortable taking ownership of projects, working through complex or incomplete information, and communicating insights to both leadership and business partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and enhance dashboards, recurring reports, KPIs, and performance tracking tools. Analyze business and customer performance to uncover trends, opportunities, and areas requiring attention. Automate reporting and improve existing processes to make information easier and faster to access. Work with information from multiple systems and ensure reporting is consistent and reliable. Partner with business leaders to understand their questions and determine the best way to use data to answer them. Evaluate existing reporting and analytical processes and recommend improvements. Translate complex information into clear insights and practical recommendations. Develop reporting solutions that allow business partners to access and understand information more effectively. Communicate findings and recommendations to a variety of audiences, including senior leadership. Manage analytical projects independently from initial request through completion.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in business analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or a related analytical role. Background within CPG, consumer products, grocery, retail, or a related industry strongly preferred. Strong hands-on experience with Power BI and/or Tableau. Experience using SQL to access, analyze, or manipulate data. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience developing dashboards, automated reporting, KPIs, and business performance analysis. Ability to work with large or complex datasets and identify inconsistencies or potential issues. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to move from analysis to recommendations. Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain analytical findings to nontechnical audiences. Comfortable working independently and taking ownership in an environment where every project may not come with a clearly defined roadmap. What Will Make Someone Successful We are looking for someone who is more than a report builder. The strongest candidate will be naturally curious about the business and will want to understand why something is happening—not simply report what happened. This person should be equally comfortable working in Power BI, SQL, and Excel as they are meeting with business partners, asking questions, identifying opportunities, and presenting recommendations. Experience working with sales, customer, category, merchandising, or other commercial CPG/retail data would be particularly valuable. Candidates coming from Senior Business Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, Senior Data Analyst, Sales Analytics, Customer Analytics, or Category Analytics backgrounds may align well with the position. This is a hands-on analytical position rather than a data engineering role. The emphasis is on using data, reporting, and business intelligence to provide better visibility into performance and help the organization make smarter business decisions.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
