About the role
- Follow HIPAA guidelines when handling and routing patient documents
- Classify documents and route them to the appropriate department or team member
- Identify high-priority items and remove non-actionable documents according to established procedures
- Process document tasks by verifying at least two patient identifiers before filing
- Review patient charts to resolve incomplete or incorrect information
- Contact healthcare facilities to resolve patient identity or document discrepancies
- Maintain accurate and organized electronic patient records
- Perform data entry and document processing in a high-volume environment
- 6+ months of experience in data entry, document processing, or administrative support, OR 1+ year in a healthcare office or patient-facing environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic computer proficiency
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work a flexible on-site schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare documents is a plus
- Experience with EHR systems, document management platforms, or G Suite is preferred
- Experience verifying patient information using multiple identifiers is a plus
