About the role

Summary of Position Converse University invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor of Interior Design Instructor to teach undergraduate courses with a focus on CAD and Revit beginning Fall 2026. This position plays an important role in preparing students for professional practice through the development of technical drawing, digital modeling, and visualization skills. Teach undergraduate-level courses in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Revit within the Interior Design program Develop and deliver engaging course content that aligns with program and CIDA accreditation standards Support student success initiatives, providing timely feedback Maintain a collaborative and inclusive learning environment Participate in professional development to stay current with evolving technologies and industry practices Contribute to program growth through curriculum support and innovation Essential Duties / Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities Teaching: 80% Service: 10% Creative Scholarship: 10% Teaching responsibilities: Development and delivery of course content within NASAD standards, grading and feedback, maintaining office hours, documenting as required for NASAD and meeting all deadlines for grade entry as required by the Office of the Registrar. Service responsibilities: Service to the department, school, and university. Creative scholarship responsibilities: Professional involvement in the field. Job Qualifications The Interior Design program at Converse University is committed to fostering creativity, critical thinking, and technical expertise. Faculty work collaboratively to prepare students for dynamic careers in the built environment. Minimum Qualifications Earned degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field Demonstrated proficiency in: Revit AutoCAD (CAD) Chief Architect Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) Enscape/Lumion Virtual Reality (VR) / Augmented Reality (AR) applications Strong communication and organizational skills Commitment to student-centered teaching and learning Preferred Qualifications Prior undergraduate teaching experience Professional experience in interior design or architecture practice Familiarity with emerging technologies in design visualization and immersive environments Engagement with industry standards and trends Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrated proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD (CAD), Chief Architect, Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.), Enscape/Lumion, and Virtual Reality (VR)/Augmented Reality (AR) applications. Strong communication and organizational skills. Guidelines and Supervision This position is supervised by the Chair of the Department of Art, Design and Letters. The Adjunct Instructor of Interior Design is expected to self-manage their courses including development and delivery of content based on NASAD and CIDA standards as well as following the course description in the academic catalog. Additionally, they are expected to provide feedback, meeting deadlines for grade entry as required by the Office of the Registrar.
