About the role
🚨 Hiring: Associate Scientist – High-Throughput Purification & Automation📍 Location: Oceanside, CA🏢 Work Schedule: Onsite, 5 days/week📅 Contract: 12 months🎓 Level: Associate Scientist (Level 26) We are looking for a hands-on Associate Scientist to support downstream purification process development and characterization during pivotal and commercial development.
🔬 What You’ll Do:
Perform high-throughput purification (HTP) of upstream/cell culture samples.
Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot HTP and microscale purification assays.
Operate and optimize automated liquid-handling platforms such as Tecan and Hamilton.
Perform purification studies using chromatography, ÄKTA, plate-based chromatography, and filtration.
Support downstream process development and process characterization studies.
Analyze experimental data and document results in ELN, protocols, and reports.
Collaborate with upstream, downstream, and cross-functional teams.⭐ Top 3 Must-Have SkillsHigh-Throughput Purification (HTP) – hands-on experience developing/executing HTP or microscale purification workflows.
Automation – experience with Tecan and/or Hamilton automated liquid-handling systems.
Chromatography & Downstream Processing – experience with ÄKTA, chromatography, filtration, and purification process development.
🎓 Qualifications:
M.S. + 2 years or B.S. + 4 years of relevant industry experience.
Degree in Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Strong hands-on laboratory and troubleshooting skills.
Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Strong documentation, communication, and data-analysis skills.
