Fabrication Technician Temp-to-hire Location: Houston, TX 77048 Pay: $20-23/hr + (depending on experience)
Schedule: 2nd shift, 5:00 PM – 3:00 AM
Position Overview: We are looking for a hands-on Fabrication Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position involves measuring, laying out, cutting, fitting, and assembling materials according to fabrication experience is not required. We are especially interested in candidates with backgrounds in plumbing, carpentry, construction, millwork, installation, or other skilled trades where measuring, layout, and hands-on assembly are part of the job. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong hands-on background who is interested in learning a specialized fabrication process.
Responsibilities: Measure and lay out materials according to specifications Cut, fit, and assemble materials accurately Use tape measures, hand tools, power tools, and other shop equipment Follow drawings, measurements, and written instructions Inspect completed work to ensure quality and accuracy Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Work as part of a team to meet production goals and deadlines Learn and follow established fabrication and assembly processes Handle materials safely throughout the fabrication process
Qualifications: Hands-on experience with measuring, layout, cutting, fitting, or assembly Comfortable using hand tools and power tools Ability to work accurately with measurements and specifications Strong attention to detail Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed Manufacturing, construction, plumbing, carpentry, millwork, installation, or similar experience preferred Plastic fabrication experience is a plus, but not required Backgrounds That May Be a Good Fit We encourage candidates from a variety of hands-on backgrounds to apply, including: Apprentice Plumbers / Plumbing Helpers Carpenters / Carpenter Helpers Construction Workers Millwork or Cabinet Assemblers Installation Technicians General Fabrication or Assembly Workers Skilled Trades Helpers Manufacturing or Production Workers with strong measuring and assembly experience
