About the role

Chief Scientific Officer | Stealth Biotech Neurology | Antibody Therapeutics | USWe are supporting the build of a well-funded, stealth mode biotech developing a novel, first-in-class antibody programme in neurology, with an initial focus on migraine. The company is now looking to appoint a Chief Scientific Officer to take scientific ownership of the programme from pre candidate selection through candidate nomination and towards IND.This is an early-stage, hands-on role. The business is lean and largely virtual, so the CSO needs to be equally comfortable setting scientific strategy, interrogating data, making programme decisions and managing external partners. The remit Scientific leadership of the lead antibody programme Define the development strategy from pre candidate selection towards INDLead candidate selection and translational strategy Drive key decisions across pharmacology, preclinical development and IND enabling activities Lead relationships with CROs, KOLs and external scientific partners Identify programme risks early and determine the experiments required to address them Work closely with the founder, investors and wider leadership team on company and pipeline strategy Help shape the scientific organisation as the company develops Background We're looking for someone with a strong track record in biotech or pharmaceutical drug development who combines deep scientific expertise with the ability to operate in a highly entrepreneurial environment. Experience across pain, migraine or neuroinflammation would be particularly relevant, although broader neurology and inflammatory disease backgrounds will be considered. Strong biologics experience is important, ideally with therapeutic antibodies, alongside experience taking programmes through candidate selection and into IND enabling development. This could suit an existing CSO or an accomplished SVP/VP level scientific leader looking to take full scientific ownership of an early stage company.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
