Geotechnical Superintendent - Deep Foundations Tampa, FL | $120,000 to $150,000 per year plus bonus | Full-time A heavy civil contractor with work across the Southeast is hiring a Geotechnical Superintendent to lead self-perform deep foundation crews in the Tampa Bay area. You will run drilled shaft, CFA auger cast pile, micropile, tieback, and soil nail operations on heavy civil and infrastructure projects. You'll own the work from means and methods planning through job closeout. A company vehicle, fuel card, and toll tags are provided. Schedule Full-time, based in the Tampa Bay area, with travel to project sites as needed. Compensation $120,000 to $150,000 base salary, plus bonus potential.
What You'll Do: You will lead day-to-day field operations for drilled shaft, auger cast pile, and earth retention crews. Before each geotechnical activity starts, you will work with the project team to plan means and methods. You will oversee the operation and maintenance of drill rigs, grout plants, and shotcrete pumps. Working with the safety department and project management, you will keep safety first on every job. You will track field productivity, update project schedules, and control labor costs against budget. You will also coordinate self-perform crews with suppliers and subcontractors, and handle quality control and field documentation. You will give project management regular status updates, and take part in job start and job close meetings.
Required Qualifications: 10+ years of geotechnical construction experience Hands-on experience with drilled shafts, CFA auger cast piles, micropiles, tiebacks, soldier piles, wick drains, and soil or rock nails Strong working knowledge of drill rigs, grout plants, and shotcrete pumps, including operation and maintenance Experience leading geotechnical crews in the field Experience managing crew labor costs and schedule in the field Willingness to travel to project sites Based in the Tampa Bay area, or willing to relocate
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience as a Drilled Shaft Superintendent FDOT drilled shaft or foundation project experience FDOT CTQP drilled shaft inspector qualification Experience with Florida soil and groundwater conditions OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification Class A CDL
