About the role

Part Time Convenience Center Site Attendant (Landfill) #51643 Performs duties in the operation and maintenance of a Convenience Center or Transfer Station for the collection of garbage and recycling materials. Work is supervised by the Engineer/General Services Director or his/her designee. Work is evaluated by conferences, observation, and feedback from the centers' clients regarding operations.
Duties and Responsibilities: Monitoring equipment and grounds needs. Assuring that requirements for the operation are met. Monitors the appropriateness of materials for disposal or recycling and the proper sorting of the material. Removes any material in inappropriate places and re-sort. Directs citizens to alternate disposal sites for materials that are unacceptable.
Additional Job Duties: Performs related duties as required.
Physical Requirements: The employee is subject to working in inside and outside environments, extreme temperatures and weather, and is exposed to various hazards such as noise, vibration, moving mechanical parts, and atmospheric conditions.
Desirable Education and Experience: Graduation from high school/GED; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
