Job DescriptionSUMMARYMortenson is currently seeking a Carpenter Foreman that will provide oversight to project carpentry crews and coordinate, implement and supervise all self-performed concrete work.RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure proper IWP is in place and understood by the crew; examine blueprints to determine structure dimensionsSelect and inspect materials and structural units for code complianceDetermine sequence of fabrication, assembly, and erection activities; assign tasks to workersInspect subcontractor work (embeds, sleeves, block outs) for specification conformancePerform concrete and rough carpentry (hand set walls, footings, gang wall forms, structural concrete decks, slabs, columns)Ability to read and understand labor reports, track productivities, input and verify craft timePerform takeoffs and order materials for consumable items (lumber, plywood, fasteners)Work with crane operators and forklift operators including rigging and signalingUnderstand properties of concrete and logistics of concrete placementsLead team members by example, offer coaching and feedback, build relationships with diverse individuals, and perform other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSHigh School diploma or GEDCompletion of apprenticeship programAbility to work with precision, visualize solid objects from drawings, read plans, and operate equipment (table saws, radial arm saws, belt & disc sanders, drill presses, fall protection equipment, rigging, and form systems)Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, and effective communication including active listening and openness to diverse input and feedbackMinimum of five (5) years of related experienceRepetitive hand, arm, leg movements*Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.Please note: this position description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of the duties and responsibilities of the position.
