About the role
Trading Systems Developer – C# / Java | Hedge Fund$30bn+ Global Hedge Fund | Stamford, CTTotal Comp: Base (Advertised) + Competitive Bonus for 2026/Buyout Working Entitlement: Candidates must be hold permanent residency / US Citizenship. A $30bn+ global hedge fund is looking for a Trading Systems Developer to build technology supporting its Equities investment business. This is a hands-on engineering role working directly with Equities Portfolio Managers and investment teams, developing the applications and platforms they rely on for day-to-day trading and portfolio management.
The Role:
Build and enhance front-office trading and investment systems supporting Equities Portfolio Managers.
Develop production applications using C#/.NET or Java.
Work directly with PMs to understand investment workflows and turn requirements into scalable technology.
Develop systems handling positions, orders, trades, P&L, market data and portfolio analytics.
Build APIs, services and data pipelines connecting the wider trading technology environment.
Develop and modernize applications using AWS and cloud-native technologies.
Improve the performance, reliability and scalability of business-critical trading systems.
Own technology from initial design through deployment and production support.
Requirements:
- Strong professional C#/.NET or Java development experience.
- Experience building trading systems, portfolio management technology or front-office financial applications.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, distributed systems and data-intensive applications.
- Professional experience with AWS.Financial markets experience, ideally across Equities, hedge funds, asset management or investment banking.
- Comfortable working directly with Portfolio Managers, Traders or other front-office investment professionals.
- Strong Computer Science, Engineering or similarly technical background.
- The opportunity offers significant ownership and direct exposure to the investment business within a large, sophisticated hedge fund environment.#Trading
