About the role
Medical Technologist We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of technical tasks and procedures in the Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology departments.
Key Responsibilities: Blood Bank:
- Perform crossmatching techniques.
- Apply problem-solving skills and judgment in dealing with antibody challenges.
- Understand the indications for transfusion and ensure proper action before releasing products that do not meet criteria.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Quality Systems for good blood bank practices.
- Chemistry and Hematology:
- Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation.
- Apply knowledge of Quality Control processes.
- Maintain competency and assist the Core Lab Supervisor with additional tasks.
- Microbiology:
- Conduct routine collection, inoculation, and processing of all specimen types.
- Prepare and promptly interpret stains and smears according to departmental procedures.

Qualifications:
Minimum of a BS degree and specialized training to obtain certification as a Medical Technologist and licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
Familiarity with medical terminology is required.
Basic computer literacy is required.
Experience with Windows, word-processing, spreadsheets, graphics, and databases is preferred.
