Overview:
Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity in the Houston office for a Public Finance Paralegal.
What Will You Do? Support attorneys on public finance and municipal securities transactions, from initial structuring through closing and post-closing. The role requires strong organization, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines.
Responsibilities:
Support public finance and municipal securities transactions from structuring through closing and post-closing.
Coordinate transaction timelines, due diligence, document collection, checklists, and closing requirements.
Prepare, organize, and proofread transaction documents, including offering and disclosure documents, financing agreements, resolutions, certificates, and closing materials.
Conduct legal and factual research and assist with due diligence.
Coordinate signatures, deliverables, closing sets, and post-closing documentation.
Maintain accurate matter files, transaction records, databases, and document repositories.
Prepare working group lists, signature packets, and other transaction materials.
Manage multiple matters and deadlines, communicating proactively with attorneys and other stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency across public finance matters.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
7+ years of paralegal experience, preferably supporting public finance, municipal finance, securities, or corporate transactions.
Experience supporting complex transactions, including legal documentation, due diligence, and closings.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and prioritize competing demands.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications:
Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program.
Experience with public finance, municipal securities, securities laws, or tax-exempt financing.
Experience with legal research, transaction management, document management, electronic filing, or closing platforms.
Prior experience in a law firm or financial services environment.

Compensation and Benefits:
The expected salary range for this position is between $100,000 - $120,000.
Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick’s estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
