About the role

Maintenance Technician (Direct Hire) With Staff Management | SMX, you'll get a weekly paycheck, learn new skills, meet new people, and work with a great management team in a clean and safe environment. Seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to operate, maintain, and repair ammonia and nitrogen refrigeration systems in a food-production environment. This role supports efficient freezing, storage, and plant cooling operations while ensuring safety, quality, and uptime. Location Hilliard, OH + Pay: $35.85/hr + Shift: Mon-Thurs, 6 AM-4 PM.

Duties:
  • Operate & maintain ammonia/nitrogen refrigeration systems, blast freezers, condensers, and chilled water systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting & mechanical/electrical repairs
  • Monitor gauges, logs & system data for performance
  • Follow GMP, safety procedures & maintain clean work areas
  • Read manuals/blueprints; order parts; support other maintenance techs as needed
Position Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of hands-on industrial ammonia refrigeration experience
  • Experience with vacuum systems, screw compressors, storage/freezer systems
  • Nitrogen flash freezer experience preferred
  • Electrical, pipe fitting, pneumatics & hydraulics experience helpful
Requirements: Background Check, Drug Test, Must be at least 18 years old. Able to Lift 50 pounds., required education: HS Diploma or GED.
