About the Role: The Company is seeking a Senior Vice President for State Government Affairs to serve as a senior executive and lead the regional government and chapter affairs function. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a coordinated regional advocacy strategy, managing a group of state chapters, and ensuring consistency and accountability across regions. This role involves serving as a senior advisor on local, state, and regional legislative, regulatory, membership, and chapter matters, as well as maintaining hands-on responsibility for advocacy, member engagement, chapter operations, events, and budgets within the assigned region. The SVP will also be tasked with identifying legislative and regulatory trends, risks, and opportunities, and representing the company with senior government officials, regulators, and partners. Applicants must have a minimum of 12 years' experience in government affairs, public policy, association management, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record in developing and executing multi-state legislative and regulatory strategies, executive presence, and the ability to manage competing priorities. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across various functions are essential. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, with a preference for an advanced degree, and knowledge of the waste and recycling industry or environmental policy is strongly preferred.
