Weigh Station Clerk / Administrative Support 2nd ShiftKelly is looking for a detail-oriented Weigh Station Clerk / Administrative Support to join our team for the upcoming harvest season. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for growers, carriers, and site visitors, accurately scaling trucks and maintaining critical logistics records to ensure our partners are paid correctly and operations run smoothly.
Location: Grand Rapids, OH 43522 Job Type: Temporary / Seasonal Compensation: $21.00/hour ($18.00/hr base + $3.00/hr 2nd shift premium)
Schedule: 2nd Shift | 2:00 PM 8:00 PM (Shift end times may vary; overtime and weekend flexibility required)
Key Responsibilities: Weigh & Dispatch: Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to weigh inbound and outbound carrier trucks (green corn, cobs, soybeans, discard) and direct them safely through the facility. Documentation & Data Entry: Generate and print scale tickets, seed load tickets, and shipping documentation. Calculate and verify weights and load specifications. Database & Record Management: Maintain accurate tracking records in Excel spreadsheets and proprietary Global Seed platforms (Seed Pro, SharePoint).Site Support & Visitor Reception: Greet incoming drivers and site visitors, distribute appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and manage inbound telephone inquiries. Workplace Organization: Keep the scale house clean, organized, and compliant with safety guidelines. Qualifications & Skills
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Experience: Prior administrative, office, dispatch, or scale house experience preferred. Computer Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and database navigation. Communication & Customer Service: Exceptional interpersonal and verbal communication skills with a positive, professional demeanor. Attention to Detail: Proven problem-solving ability, high mathematical accuracy, and strict respect for confidential information. Multitasking: Ability to handle fast-paced seasonal demands while managing competing priorities. Physical Requirements & Dress Code
Physical Demands: Prolonged sitting and standing; repetitive motion involving computer entry and typing.
Attire Requirements:
  • Closed-toe and closed-heel footwear.
  • Long pants (slacks or jeans; no rips or tears).Shirts with sleeves (must cover shoulders).Important Site Policies
  • Attendance & Commute: Reliable, punctual daily attendance is mandatory. Reliable personal transportation to and from the site is required.
  • Cell Phone / Electronics Policy: Personal cell phones, mobile devices, and headphones/music players are strictly prohibited in work areas during working hours. Hands-free device operation is required when driving any vehicle on company property.
  • Vehicle Safety: Seatbelts must be worn at all times while operating or riding in any vehicle inside the facility.
