The candidate will report to the Head of Consumer Investing, sitting in the Strategic Development group, joining a small group of professionals with backgrounds in media & technology, consulting, investment banking and private equity, who serve as in-house advisors to CAA's executive leadership. Sitting within the Strategic Development group, this candidate will work specifically alongside various departments within the organization that focus on our clients' work with consumer brands. This Associate will work closely with clients and colleagues – evaluating opportunities, conducting due diligence, structuring deals, etc. – as well as with peers across the consumer brand ecosystem, identifying and sourcing opportunities relevant opportunities.ResponsibilitiesConduct due diligence and execute investment opportunitiesBuild financial models, including bottoms-up financial statements and valuation analysesCreate and present investment, strategy and deal memos & analysisConduct sector analyses, including market sizing, competitive landscape and trendsPerform other critical tasks as directedQualifications2+ years of work experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy or similar roles (with direct experience in consumer brand, consumer retail and/or CPG)Interest in the media, entertainment and sports industries and a passion to learnUnderstanding of and interest in pop-culture and trendsStrong financial modeling skills for highly quantitative analysesIndependent thinker with a point of view on the risks and rewards of new investment opportunities and strategic initiativesExcellent oral and written communication skillsAttention to detail in all deliverablesStrong work ethic with a high level of responsivenessAbility to manage deadlines with a high level of responsibility and autonomyBachelor's degree in Business, Economics or a related discipline preferredThis role will be based at our office in Los Angeles, California.The annual base salary for this position is in the range of $115,000 to $135,000. This position also is eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus. Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
